  1. Installing doXbase
  2. ==================

  4. This chapter explains how to install and set up the doXbase application
  5.  
  6. NOTE: This guide does not include any hardware installation procedures.
  7. To install computer or peripheral hardware or system software, refer to
  8. the manufacturerÆs documentation. Preparing for installation Before
  9. beginning the installation in this document, set up your computer system
  10. and connect any peripheral devices that are to be used with doXbase.
  11. Don't be concerned if some peripheral equipment is unavailable at the
  12. time of installation. This equipment can be set up for use with doXbase
  13. at a later time. Installing doXbase software doXbase software is shipped
  14. on one 3.5-inch diskette. To install the application:
  15.  
  16. 1. Insert diskette #1 in your computer floppy disk.
  17.  
  18. 2. Click the Windows 95 Start button  (Windows 3.1 user should use the
  19. Program Manager to launch the installer). A pop-up menu appears.
  20.  
  21. 3. Choose Run from the pop-up menu. The Run dialog appears.
  22.  
  23. 4. Type a:\install.exe in the Run dialog and click OK.
  24.  
  25. 5. The select drive dialog box appears
  26.  
  27. 6. Choose the drive where you would like doXbase installed then click OK.
  28.  
  29. 7. The Select Directory dialog box appears.
  30.  
  31. 8. To accept the default directory name (doXbas20), click OK. To
  32. choose another name for doXbase, type the name and path in the text box
  33. and click OK. The Installer will copy the required files to your hard disk.

  35. 9. The select program group dialog appears.
  36.  
  37. 10. Use the dialog box to either select an existing program group or
  38. to create a new program group. Then, click OK. If you choose Select
  39. Program Group, a Select Program Group dialog box appears, allowing you
  40. to choose a program group from a list. Click OK to continue.

  42. 11. When the installation is complete, a dialog box informs you that the
  43. installation was successful.

  45. 12. Click OK. doXbase application is now installed and ready to use.

  47. Launching doXbase
  48. =================
  49. To lauch doXbase, double-click on the doXbase icon in the doXbase group.
